Welcome to Gabe’s Heart Foundation

Gabe’s Heart Foundation is a 501 c3 Non profit organization.  Your donations are tax deductible.  Annually, we host a 5k walk the fourth Saturday in September to raise awareness of heart defects and sudden cardiac arrest in youth.

Our goal is to place portable defibrillators in public spaces around the country where youth congregate.

We also host an annual gala to recognize those individuals that are “Doing it Gabe’s Way” with “Gabe’s Big Heart” Awards and provide a platform to learn more about how sudden cardiac arrest is impacting those in our communities and how we can support those impacted.

Gabe’s Heart Foundation was formed due to Gabriel Michael Jacobs unexpected passing at the age of 12 years old due to an unknown heart defect that led to sudden cardiac arrest. It took paramedics approximately 15 minutes to arrive to start their life saving measures.

We are grateful for their tireless effort, however, we believe CPR coupled with a defibrillator being on site, can possibly make a difference in the outcome for someone here on this earth experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. Gabe loved playing football and played in the National Football Playoffs the week prior to his death (Gabe Stood 5’10 and known as “Diesel” on the football field).

He was an honor roll student and the anti-bullying mediator at his school. Gabe was affectionately known as “Guardian Gabe” amongst his peers.

On Behalf of The Gabe's Heart Foundation Board of Directors - We say THANK YOU!

At Gabe’s Heart Foundation, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your incredible generosity and support in helping us raise $6,700 towards our $45,000 goal to help minimize the number of sudden pediatric cardiac arrest incidents throughout the country.

Between your giving at the 8th Annual 5k Walk and Giving Tuesday, your commitment to ensure that Gabe’s Heart Foundation can place AED portable defibrillators in public places where youth visit has already made a significant impact, and we are truly grateful for each and every contribution.  Your support will also help us successfully provide these devices and more at our annual gala.

As we continue on this journey, we want to gently remind you that our mission is ongoing, and every additional contribution makes a meaningful difference. Your continued support allows us to reach more milestones in our efforts to create a safer and healthier environment for our youth.

If you feel compelled to further contribute or know someone who might be interested in joining our cause, we welcome any additional support.  We encourage you to check with your company to see if they are doing matching gifts especially as they close out the year.

We want to re-emphasize that your past contributions have already made a tremendous impact, and we are grateful for the support you have provided thus far.

If your organization would like to be considered to receive a portable defibrillator from Gabe’s Heart Foundation or form a partnership with us, please email Kim@gabesheartfoundation.org or Julia@gabesheartfoundation.org.

We also want to hear your story regarding any sudden cardiac arrest incidents.

Thank you Dr. Lotus Riché from The Lotus Riché ignites Show for co-Hosting the Gabe’s Heart Foundation Give-A-Thon on The Kim Jacobs Showthroughout the day on Giving Tuesday.
